Doing more to sustain local people and places

Get help for your community project

Through our community volunteering project - Be the Difference - each of our 22,000 employees has the opportunity to take a day out of their typical working life to support local community projects.

In 2013, we donated over 50,000 hours to local community organisations and charities - almost double what we contributed in 2012!

Our employees helped 681 projects and organisations with a wide range of activities from dog walking and tree cutting to litter picking and fundraising.

You can read about some of these projects on this site.

If you would like a helping hand you can request SSE volunteers for your project.
